Dubai – Fresh off the celebrations from the nation’s 41stNational Day Celebrations, UAE is still a buzz with excitement, shopping offers and elaborately decorated cars. Millions of residents across the emirates got together to enjoy festivities in car rallies, parades, mall celebrations and in beautifully decorated residential areas.
The green, white, red and black colours were seen at every shop of every street. Cars zoomed down the highway with little UAE flags fastened on the windows of their cars. Locals and expats alike adorned the colours of the nation as they watched the spectacular fireworks and got swept away with cultural performances, national cuisines, handicrafts and souvenirs. The streets were filled with excitement and cars were adorned with the colours of the flag and the faces of Sheikh Khalifa, President of UAE and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and Sheikh Mohammed, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE.
The highlight of the day was definitely the SMS message sent by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to all the residents of Dubai to mark the auspicious day. This was closely followed the unveiling of the new UAE landmark, in the form of the tallest flag pole in Sharjah, a carnival to mark historical achievements at Boulvevard in Down Town, and of course the lights and colours present on the length of every auspicious building as well as massive celebrations in Abu Dhabi and the flock of sky lanterns released at the Coniche in Sharjah.
