Dubai city has added yet another superlative to its list of world-record-breakers. This time it is for the title of the world’s tallest hotel, credited to the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel in Dubai. Indian national, Ashok Korgaonkar, is the leading architect for the hotel project who said his inspiration arose from his focus on innovation. His aim was to create a hotel that is functionally distinguished and at par with the superior design element.
Korgaonkar said JW Marriot Marquis Hotel, which stands at 77 floors across 355 meters, replaces the Rose Rayhaan Rotana, 333 meters tall, as the tallest hotel.
Dubai holds the most number of record breaks for a country. These include record for tallest building, the Burj Khalifa; tallest residential building, Princess Tower and the largest shopping centre, The Dubai Mall, among several other records.
