Roam the Backwaters of Ras Al Khor

dubai_skylineNature lovers in Dubai are in for a treat with a new waterbus route taking people back and forth between the Dubai Festival City station and Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary.

The nature reserve, which is a migratory home for different species of birds, will be connected by the water bus service commissioned by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

Surrounded by lush greens, the ferry ride will cost Dh25, taking commuters along a picturesque view of Dubai’s imposing skyline with the serenity and tranquility of Creek waters. The route is from Dubai Festival City.

Bahauddin Al Qudra, Director of Marine Transport at Public Transport Agency, said: “In a short cruise lasting about 30 minutes, passengers will experience a safe and smooth transit punctuated by stunning sea views and the bus will slow down at certain locations to enable passengers take memorable photographs of gorgeous sceneries in abundance.”

This water bus service will run at 10am and 11am, continue at 2pm and 3pm, and again at 4pm, 5pm and 6pm from Saturday to Thursday. On Fridays and official holidays, the service will run at 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm and 6pm. The fare is Dh25 per person for a round trip, and tickets will be issued onboard the water bus; which can also be chartered for those interested in having private trips.
