Things to do this weekend in Dubai

Weekend is here and if you haven’t made any plans yet, then read on.

Be entertained, enjoy good food, reap the fruits of organic farms around Dubai or get in on some weekend yoga.

Running through the months of March and April, across Marasi Business Bay, JBR, Bay Avenue and Bay Square, enjoy a range of family-friendly activities that include art, dance, food, music and wellness.

Here are a few things for your diary:

  1. Redbull BC1

The ultimate break dance battle to watch with professional break dancers battling each other.

2. Dubai Latin Festival

Exciting performances by Latin dancers and musicians bringing the fun to the street each week for two weeks, in the run up to the 3 day Latin Festival to be hosted in Dubai Media City.

3. Free Yoga session 

Recharge with complimentary yoga at Marasi Business Bay. Hosted twice a week in the park at Marasi Business Bay by the experts from Piloga Studio, the hour long session is open to public. Rejuvenate on Monday mornings with Morning Warrior, a power workout that sets the pace for the day or unwind on Wednesday evenings with Candlelight sessions.

Time: Monday at 7:00 am and Wednesday at 7:00 pm

4. Free Outdoor Art Classes

A full curriculum outdoor art classes offered to a group of 20 students aged 10 years and over. Hosted by ten art educators, over 16 sessions, the classes introduce the group to various painting techniques including acrylic, spray, oil, water colours, sketching among others.

Dates: Every Saturday, until the end of April

Time: 9:00am to 12:00pm

5. Hula Hooping Classes

Perfect for a fun-filled Saturday morning, visitors can enjoy Hula Hooping classes on the grass area at Bay Square. Sessions are conducted by the instructors at Piloga Studio.

Dates: Every Saturday, till the end of March

Time: 11:00 am

Price:  The 50 minute sessions are priced at AED100 per person or AED90 per class for a package of 5 classes.


6. Baker & Spice Farmers’ Market

The eighth season of Baker & Spice’s farmers market on the terrace brings produce straight from the farms to Bay Avenue, all while head chefs from the Taj Hotel host cooking demonstrations for an interested crowd.
